Senior Director of Global Brand Creative

General Purpose:

Leads the global creative vision and strategic creative design direction for MillerKnoll and brands within the collective. Partners with executive brand and marketing leaders to ensure alignment of global brand creative and content creation with the brand vision, corporate priorities, and contract marketing and sales goals. Provides creative and editorial direction for the MillerKnoll brand,, corporate and contract marketing and sales support creative–generating impactful original ideas and ensuring consistent and relevant brand expression through all lines of business, channels, platforms, and creative disciplines. Ensures creative support for NaughtOne, Geiger Datesweiser, and CBS brands. Leads the internal MillerKnoll Creative and International Brand Design teams and directs external strategic partners, alliances, and agencies, as needed.

Essential Functions:

Creative Strategy

  • Develops and implements long and short-term creative strategies for building and forwarding the MillerKnoll brand and to deliver against defined strategic priorities and strengthen brand value and sales. 
  • Applies customer and cultural insights to build innovative creative strategies that enable the brand to show up with relevance and meaning across all lines of business, experiences, and platforms. 
  • Partners with MillerKnoll executive leadership to develop creative strategies that support and drive sales for our contract business. 
  • Partners with MillerKnoll brand marketing leader in the co-creation and development of the annual editorial plan­–driving storytelling, creative content and amplifying stories from the collective.

Creative Leadership

  • Provides creative brand vision and stewardship for the MillerKnoll brand. Leads, evolves, and reinforces the brand expression, standards, and guidelines in all experiences and applications. 
  • Leads creative development of multi-channel, multi-disciplinary creative work for MillerKnoll brand, MillerKnoll contract,, MillerKnoll corporate and ensuring creative and design support for NaughtOne, Geiger Datesweiser and CBS brands. 
  • Provides direction in the creation of multi-channel, multi-disciplinary creative design work including: brand campaigns, brand design and voice, content creation, event and exhibition graphics, digital design, and other brand experiences. 
  • Partners with eCommerce and Digital Product Design teams, provides the MillerKnoll brand design vision and direction to inform digital design and toolkits. 
  • Ensures alignment of international brand design creative work with the brand vision, strategy, design system of the supported Collective brands.

Team Leadership

  • Leads a global, multi-regional, multi-channel, and multi-disciplinary brand creative team.
  • Oversees external strategic design partnerships and agencies to ensure an on-brand delivery of design/creative/environmental work. 
  • Partners with executive leadership to achieve larger MillerKnoll Corporate, Contract and cultural strategies. 
  • Builds a vibrant creative culture where great ideas thrive. 
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objective(s).


  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, Communications, Editorial or other relevant discipline. 
  • 10+ years’ of experience in progressive, professional level creative roles. 
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience of creative leadership. 
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud apps, HTML, Figma, Miro, accessibility compliance, website design, UX and Microsoft products.

  • Develops exceptional, original creative strategies that drive exceptional creative. 
  • Demonstrated multi-disciplinary creative design expertise: brand design systems, digital design, concept and content creation, motion, video, photography, editorial, etc. 
  • Expert knowledge of social platforms, digital advertising, website design, and digital media. 
  • Knows how to bring bold ideas and effective, multi-disciplinary, 360º product launches and brand campaigns to life. 
  • Possess a high taste level and a critical sense of editorial style and design. 
  • Proven strength in effectively managing a cross-functional, global team, international team leadership a plus. 
  • Able to organize, multi-task and quickly manage large and diverse workload with changing deadlines and priorities. 
  • Demonstrated ability and ease with leading, influencing and working with all levels in the organization, including executive leadership. 
  • Demonstrates high level of integrity and the willingness to accept responsibility and make decisions for expedient problem resolution. 
  • Proven history of successfully driving initiatives within an organization beyond the immediate span of control. 
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and cogently. 
  • Customer-first mindset and drive.
