Vital Proteins is looking for a Senior Director of Integrated Communications to oversee and execute corporate brand messaging, public relations, and integrated marketing communication activities. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring strong and positive awareness of the Vital brand in the Health and Wellness space. This individual should have thoughtful and innovative ideas with a desire to push Vital Proteins to the next phase of brand presence and awareness both domestically and abroad. This role will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders within Vital and Nestle Health Science and serve as a critical player in the management and execution of a cohesive strategy to brand awareness, support celebrity partnerships, and share educational communications across multiple markets. This role reports to the VP of Global Marketing and will be located out of the Vital Proteins’ Chicago office or remotely within the continental US.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and refine comprehensive marketing communication plans, partnering with Sr. Leadership and all Marketing functions to drive critical initiatives across the Vital Proteins business 
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing communications deliverables, focused on building mass customer awareness 
  • Create, execute, and frequently evolve a toolkit, suite of press materials, and preparedness plans to support new product innovations, consumer trade and industry press efforts along with reputation management within CPG category 
  • Maintain a solid grasp of competitive trends with the ability to utilize customer and/or market research to ensure marketing communications are differentiated from competition and resonate with our target audience(s) 
  • Collaborate with influencer and social media teams to develop PR amplifications to support social and influencer strategy 
  • Partner with global Communications teams for the successful generation of earned coverage 
  • Lead strategy and execution of publicity around celebrity-lead campaigns to generate earned coverage 
  • Mentor, manage, and build a roadmap for future internal and external communications resources 
  • Work with Nestlé Health Science team members to ensure consistent messaging for external communications

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications or related subject required 
  • You have 10+ years of integrated communications experience with a focus on developing successful marketing communication campaigns for new product launches in health and wellness space 
  • Previous experience managing agency relationships and/or working in an agency setting with strong client focus a must 
  • You have previous experience working with international markets and a keen understanding of cultural nuances 
  • You have a strong understanding of influencer and social media strategy and tactics to partner with global teams for the generation of earned coverage 
  • You have previously managed multiple projects at a time, demonstrating an ability to prioritize responsibilities to quickly and effectively meet deadlines 
  • You have previously built teams and collateral from the ground up 
  • You have advanced communication skills and the ability to quickly distill complex information into a compelling story and communicate to various audiences with emphasis on executive communication 
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where responsibilities and projects will change at a moment’s notice; you are a problem solver 
  • You must have a focused and constructive approach to new ideas and campaigns 
  • You must be able to independently remain organized and be comfortable with cross-functional communication 
  • Someone with a supportive perspective that is able to understand changing company priorities 
  • Someone who has a personal interest in wellness and maintaining a pulse on the health and wellness industry.
