We help more than a million Jews in need each year and as our Senior Director of Marketing, you’ll develop and implement marketing strategies that will allow us to help even more.

These marketing strategies will span all programs, initiatives and channels to enhance and grow external support of The Fellowship’s programs and initiatives. You will also manage the marketing team, guiding them toward developing and delivering consistent messaging and materials that will support revenue generating efforts and non-revenue needs that will move The Fellowship’s mission forward.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Brand Marketing -

  • Develops and drives overall brand strategy for The Fellowship that engages current donors and helps to solidify the next generation of donors. 
  • Ensures content used throughout the organization adheres to the brand strategy and adheres to brand guidelines. Ensures content strategy supports overarching brand objectives. 
  • Conducts ongoing evaluation of brand strategy and content integrity, updating as necessary and incorporating best practices 
  • Collaborates with marketing and programs groups in the Israel and Canada offices to ensure appropriate branding needs.

Market Research -

  • Assesses brand awareness and needs through market research, donor surveys, and brand research. 
  • Completes analysis and reporting of brand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. 
  • Incorporates into marketing and communications plan for the organization.

Communications -

  • Conducts audit of current marketing collateral and other communication resources in collaboration with internal stakeholders. 
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of these resources and their use. 
  • Devises strategy for non-fundraising marketing campaigns. 
  • Ensures tactical and timely implementation, promotion, and management of these campaigns. 
  • Collaborates with integrated fundraising team on fundraising campaigns, ensuring integrity of brand. 
  • Provides final editorial direction to communications team, ensuring established branding is maintained. 
  • Leads and coaches marketing, communications, and product development teams.

Public Relations -

  • Serves as primary point of contact for media or contracted media agency. 
  • Evaluates and establishes best practices for media pitching, story placement with brand strategy top of mind. 
  • Acts as a liaison with Jewish media, organizations, and groups, and works with the President or President-elect to determine appropriate responses to the media.

Operations -

  • Serves as the mentor and manager of staff and oversees the effective operation of the marketing group, including content, product marketing, editorial, and video content teams.
  • Providing strategic direction and guiding the group in tactical implementation of effective and consistent marketing activities.

The ideal candidate will have at least the following experience and abilities:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading marketing and communications programs within complex organizations.
  • At least 4 years of experience directly managing related teams. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in English, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. 
  • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and overseeing large-scale marketing efforts, as well as large teams in a non-profit setting. 
  • Measurable success in the areas of content development, publications, special events, and promotional activities. 
  • Extensive experience writing and editing communications pieces that appeal to diverse sets of audiences. 
  • Crisis and issue communication management experience. 
  • Digital marketing experience. 
  • Demonstrated success with enterprise-wide, as well as program-level branding, communications, and marketing campaigns. 
  • Experience developing and placing original programming for radio and television. 
  • Strong record as an effective, team-oriented leader and a thoughtful, diplomatic mentor.
  • Demonstrated track record in guiding professional teams and marketing efforts as well as facilitating collaborative and integrated teams. 
  • Previous experience in a faith-based and/or humanitarian organization preferred. 
  • An understanding of the Evangelical and Jewish markets and trends with the ability to communicate effectively with leaders in the space highly desired. 
  • Respectful of differing faith traditions. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with media contacts and external audiences. 
  • Ability to identify measurable outcomes from an enterprise-wide perspective and utilizing strong analytical skills to maximize ROI. 
  • The capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders of varied backgrounds and beliefs.
