Position Summary:

The Senior Events Manager will lead all aspects of special events and manage the events team. You will work with a cross-functional team to create and execute the event strategy. Your work will have a measurable impact on our prospects, new and existing customers and partner strategies. This hands-on role requires you to understand and manage the details of event strategy, vision, planning and execution.

Are you an expert at creating industry leading experiences within B2B and B2C events? This role requires someone who can understand and conceptualize an event plan from an initial, big picture vision down to every minute detail. We are seeking a seasoned leader with practical events experience who understands how events contribute to sales and marketing goals, enhance company initiatives, and deliver premium memorable experiences.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set the vision for compelling event presences and experiences at industry and company owned events.
  • Define a holistic event strategy, marketing plan and annual program budget that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage and track the events budget, contracts, scope of work and costs with internal partners and external vendors.
  • Collaborate regularly with colleagues, strategic partners, and vendors to ensure high-quality and successful events. 
  • Innovate on the fly and proactively suggest creative solutions that raise the bar.
  • Employ continuous improvement principles in process and communication. Develop and track key performance indicators, event success goals, ROI, and contribution to the sales pipeline. Review event performance and modify future events based on analysis.
  • Identify new opportunities to drive brand awareness, provide a premium experience, showcase products and meet event goals.
  • Partner with the internal teams to determine content capture requirements and execution parameters.
  • Guide, monitor, develop and lead a team of direct reports.

Skills/Abilities and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, events or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • At least 7 years of experience in managing large-scale events (100+ people).
  • CTSM (Certified Trade Show Marketer) certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% throughout the U.S. and work outside of traditional office hours. 
  • Demonstrable understanding of all phases of event marketing and strategy, planning, including promotions, traffic drivers, pre-show preparation, on-site logistics, and event outcomes in terms of KPIs and metrics.
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative role with multiple stakeholder groups, and the ability to lead through influence.
  • Detailed, proactive problem solver with excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. 
  • Commands grace in exercising tact and discretion in dealing with the public.
  • Proven track record of leading and building high performing teams through a culture of accountability. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time and be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
