The Enrollment Marketing Senior Graphic Designer (SGD) is responsible for the concept, creation, and execution of effective digital and print design that contribute to Loyola’s enrollment marketing strategy and tactics.

Reporting to the Senior Content Producer, theSGDposition requires a senior-level designer who has artistic and technical ability, analytical and organizational skills, uses data to inform design, and is a good communicator/collaborator. The SGD is integral to the Enrollment Marketing team, collaborating directly with content production and advertising colleagues as they initiate enrollment marketing strategy and tactics for the Undergraduate Admission Office (UAO), Graduate and Professional Enrollment Management (GPEM), other Enrollment Management offices, and colleges, schools and programs across the university.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Plans, conceptualizes and executes high-level design for prospective undergraduate, graduate and professional students that is in alignment with University Marketing and Communications brand standards 
  • Lead designer for enrollment marketing projects across channels (print brochures and materials, email marketing design, social media content platforms, print advertisements, out-of-home advertising, landing pages, banner ads, display advertising, direct mail, video, etc.) 
  • Manages Web and Digital Designer and their content and advertising project portfolio
  • Collaborates closely with Enrollment Marketing content production team to understand and interpret project needs, marketing goals, messaging points, and desired tone for various projects implementing it all in the design work 
  • Collaborates with Enrollment Marketing content production team to conceptualize and plan photo shoots as needed for specific projects 
  • Collaborates closely with Enrollment Marketing advertising team on creative for display, paid social, search, print, and out-of-home advertising 
  • Works with vendors to coordinate cost estimates, distribute files, review proofs, oversee final quality control of projects, handle invoicing
  • Presents design concepts to university partners, communicating creative vision and process
  • Serves as a mentor for student interns
  • Follows trends in design, emerging technologies, and platforms; considers how/when to experiment and integrate these into specific deliverables and/or the visual brand Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design 
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in graphic design

Qualifications

  • Portfolio of print and digital design work that demonstrates experience leading large scale projects, a range of aesthetics and client-focused solutions to marketing challenges. 
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other visual design tools 
  • Experience designing for the web; basic front-end development (HTML/CSS) and understanding of UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface)
  • Experience preparing files and working with offset and digital print vendors 
  • Strong project and time management skills; proven ability to prioritize multiple, complex projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and articulate concepts and potential solutions 
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Meticulous eye for detail and an active, empathetic listener able to interpret goals and incorporate critical feedback from multiple client-partners. 
  • Strong conceptual and research skills and an aptitude for developing a variety of styles.
  • Familiarity with offset and digital printing processes (pre-press, press checks, finishing) as well as printing bids, estimates and format recommendations. 
  • Motivated by challenges and interested in professional growth

Computer Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other visual design tools
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet, and email applications. Project Management software preferred
