Senior Graphic Designer will be responsible, with support of senior leadership, for building and developing an environmental graphics practice integrated within an existing design studio. The Senior Graphic Designer will integrate immediately into multiple major urban design projects to develop environmental graphics, wayfinding, and branding for built environments. Additionally, they will direct all graphic output of the office, from marketing and promotional material to presentation graphic standards.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work with Landscape Architecture and Urban Design teams to develop comprehensive branding and environmental graphic concepts for public realm and institutional projects 
  • Coordinate with wayfinding experts, support staff, and other freelance collaborators to support design efforts 
  • Work with the design team to develop environmental graphics concepts into constructible elements and signage 
  • Develop working relationships with other firms, clients, and government agencies through the course of a project 
  • Work directly with clients throughout a project, actively representing their interests as well as the interests of Coen+Partners and the project as a whole 
  • Develop graphic standards for internal and external presentations, documents, and communication 
  • Build upon an existing graphic brand, infuse it with new energy, and support its evolution and growth over time 
  • Drive a project forward on vision, on time and on-budget

Preferred candidates will have the following attributes:

  • 8-20 years of graphic design experience in a progressive studio environment 
  • Experience developing branding and graphic design content from concept through implementation 
  • Developed understanding and approach to contemporary and contextual based design 
  • Confidence working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary design team 
  • Proficiency with Adobe design software 
  • Experience translating design work into physical, constructed elements (signage, wayfinding, etc) 
  • Desire and ability to travel domestically and internationally 
  • Minimally a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from an accredited program or commensurate professional experience.
