The Senior Graphic Designer will work closely with others to lead the visual strategy for inspiring, industry-leading catalogs and print material. This position will be involved from concept to completion on design deliverables such as catalog, direct mail, print, collateral, integrated campaign concepts and advertising.

This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, WI (between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI area).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead design concepts and execution for seasonal catalogs, print collateral and creative development. 
  • Collaborate with internal partners to understand and help drive strategy to execute against creative brief objectives. 
  • Work with key stakeholders to coordinate print reviews and to organize timeline with the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale. 
  • Understand the strategic objectives of each project and its components while continuously developing a thorough understanding of collections and individual products. 
  • Direct and manage projects with other graphic designers, as needed, for extended print projects. 
  • Create innovative solutions for projects within brand guidelines and product architecture. 
  • Propose further development of standards, methodologies and processes for department. 
  • Collaborate with in-house photo retoucher on image retouching and color calibration for all images used in artwork files. 
  • Troubleshoot and remedy issues with in-house and third-party vendors. 
  • Stay up to date on latest design and photography trends, providing new ideas and insights to designers and marketers. 
  • Research competitive catalog, print material and advertising to ensure the company is staying competitive in the marketplace. 
  • Create guidelines ensuring hierarchy, template consistency and clear brand communication. 
  • Maintain the organization of file management system for creative team as outlined by department processes. 
  • Delegate project tasks to junior designers. 
  • Select and direct retouching for images in projects. 
  • Meet and exceed goal metrics for new product and business development launches. 
  • Develop conceptual creative across channels to elevate the Jockey brand against competitors and in the minds of target consumers. 
  • Deliver innovative solutions that can be applied across channel marketing. 
  • Create and maintain packaging guidelines that can be used by the entire company as reference to our packaging templates throughout the packaging process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of proven graphic design experience in a creative environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field. 
  • Portfolio that demonstrates print and catalogue design principles. 
  • Strong conceptual skills and expertise of typography, photography and layout. 
  • Experience working in retail, fashion and/or consumer goods capacity. 
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team for successful project outcomes. 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedules and project calendars. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Detail oriented with strong collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to present work to cross functional teams and leadership. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite on Mac OS.
