ASGCT is seeking an experienced communications professional for the role of the Senior Manager, Communications. The position is responsible for the strategy, management, and execution of the ASGCT’s communications efforts. Additionally, the position supports the Society’s individual departmental needs including educational programming, awards, policy and advocacy, and outreach efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop content strategy for ASGCT’s website and subdomains (asgct.org, annualmeeting.asgct.org, and patienteducation.asgct.org) and ASGCT’s social media properties (@ASGCTherapy and @MolTherapy accounts)
  • Develop and execute all outgoing member communication including but not limited to newsletters, academic journal materials, event confirmations and reminders, award notices, ASGCT elections, and quarterly field reports
  • Review and edit all outgoing all outgoing marketing copy including but not limited to member recruitment messages, renewal notices, and ad copy
  • Integrate voice of ASGCT membership and elected leadership into Society content Ensure event registrations are created and open online in a timely manner
  • Manage media and public relations efforts with the scientific press
  • Design materials needed by ASGCT including but not limited to one-sheets, save the dates, and social graphics
  • Analyze user data to generate reportable KPIs and to redirect strategy
  • Assist with Society logistics and user experiences including speaker management, attendee experience, new-join experience, and renewal experiences
  • Supervise and cultivate communications team staff
  • Liaise, in partnership with Communications Manager, to the ASGCT Communications Committee
  • Guide ASGCT on department technology needs, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Canva, Vimeo, iMIS, Kentico, email marketing system, and system/database integrations

Skills/Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years of experience leading teams in communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
  • Experience working within professional associations is a plus
  • Exceptional project planning, project management and organizational skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in AP Style
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Kentico, Canva, email automation systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and Meltwater
  • Understanding of database management (iMIS or other AMS) and how to leverage them to maximize user experience in membership and event registration
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide timely results
  • Thorough attention to detail, excellent listening skills, and exceptional focus on core audiences
  • Strong knowledge of social media communications including LinkedIn, Twitter, and others 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow 
  • Knowledge of layout process and creative graphic design

Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday

Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay

The position is based in the greater Milwaukee area.
