Senior Manager Marketing Communications

Position Summary:

The Manager Marketing Communications is responsible for developing and executing superior communications strategies and plans under the business goals and objectives. This position leads, manages and develops a team dedicated to best-in-class product launches and other major marketing and internal communications solutions and defines organization processes and strategies. This position also acts as a subject matter expert, liaison and advisor throughout the organization.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a team focused on providing comprehensive marketing communications solutions 
  • Partners with the Product Marketing and Clinical Education teams to advise, influence and develop communications strategies that achieve marketing goals 
  • Defines and manages product brands throughout the product development and commercialization processes 
  • Partners with the Marketing Communications Director to define department strategies, while working with their team to implement tactics across multiple communication channels 
  • Defines and continuously improves upon Marketing Communications processes according to industry and organization best practices 
  • Works closely with key stakeholders to develop strategic marketing tools that are appealing and engaging to each audience 
  • Identifies, implements and manages electronic systems and software that improve department processes or functions 
  • Acts as a subject matter expert, advisor and partner to educate and influence others on best practices, processes and communications 
  • Supports the internal communications needs for divisional partners 
  • Manage all aspects of content calendar for Awareness Campaign, working with downstream marketing team to ensure consistent flow of relevant data. 
  • Content is directed to target audiences: vascular, therapy, cancer care and patients. 
  • Participate in agency and outside supplier meetings and reviews as appropriate to ensure that creative and production work reflect the needs of the marketing team and evolving industry practices
  • Oversee all social media channels ensuring frequency, relevance and consistency 
  • Owner and administrator of “The Shop”, the online website 
  • Solicit feedback from sales partners to ensure continuous improvement for future development of materials. 
  • Ensure compliance with sales and marketing operational policies and procedures 
  • Act as the brand ambassador for the company and ensure compliance across all departments
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a marketing, advertising, journalism, communications, public relations or marketing related field 
  • 10+ years project management role in a marketing or corporate communications department 
  • Medical device industry experience strongly preferred 
  • Experience in digital and social platforms such as web, video or mobile 
  • Previous experience managing individuals, teams, vendors or contractors 
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong desire to develop and foster strong, positive and effective working relationships with individuals inside and outside the organization 
  • Passionate about team chemistry with the demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a dynamic environment 
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing small and large scale Marketing Communications’ projects 
  • Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills. Adept at communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization 
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing product launches 
  • Strong understanding of social media channels 
  • Experience briefing and managing outside resources including writers, agencies and creative partners 
  • Expertise in MS Office and Outlook.
