Primary Function:

As an integral member of the Creative Services team, the Senior Manager of Graphic Design is a strategic thinker and problem solver who can design new and original work, continuing to evolve our offerings and approach based on current trends and industry best practices. They provide leadership and direction to other designers and work closely with the creative services team, and internal and external partners to provide digital and print solutions to address our marketing needs. The Senior Manager of Graphic Design is focused on marketing materials, but will also need to design and develop creative for various other projects like internal communications, social media, banner ads, and more. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, can provide creative direction, but most of all, will absolutely love storytelling through design.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationship with the Marketing and Promotions teams to design, develop, and deploy emails and content campaigns. Design and develop other digital marketing campaigns to support broad brand building. 
  • Oversee all creative projects from conception to delivery, ensuring they meet brand standards. 
  • Stay connected to new technology and trends in design and bring those learnings in house to share with others. 
  • Train junior designers and review their work to ensure high-quality output. 
  • Assign creative work to the design team based on skill level and expertise. 
  • Communicate and share your design thinking, presenting to all levels of co-workers throughout all stages of design. 
  • Lead/challenge team to develop new processes and find efficiencies that allow us to be more productive. 
  • Prioritize work to meet changing deadlines and respond to critical business shifts quickly. 
  • Partner with Brand team members on campaign initiatives, and own the creative/production portion of this work. 
  • Follow best practices for brand and email guidelines to ensure projects adhere to specifications and standards. 
  • Review work, troubleshoot and provide coaching to creative designers. 
  • Drive hiring, training and performance management of creative designers. 
  • Manage and cultivate the career development of the design team.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Graphic Design.
  • 5-7 years of experience in print and email design/development with experience hand-coding HTML and CSS for email campaigns.
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Sketch experience required. 
  • Previous experience testing and troubleshooting in multiple browsers or email clients with a strong sense of email design and user experience fundamentals.
  • Experience designing for responsive and mobile websites.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, plus the ability to communicate with a wide range of people throughout the organization.
  • Experience with content management systems.
  • Experience managing/coaching designers as well as influencing the work of others.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
