Industry marketing translates the organization's business objectives, market opportunities and portfolio of offerings into a well-defined, cohesive go-to-market strategy for industry vertical. In this role you will align products, services and solutions to market segments, thereby driving clarity and efficiency in go-to-market execution.

The Senior Manager, Strategic Marketing will lead a team that partners with the business in order to maximize the global commercialization efforts. You will collaborate extensively with the COU leader and business team to provide commercial insights and data that supports new and existing portfolio decisions, develop the messaging, and strategy that empowers the marketing organization to develop and execute a plan that meets the growth targets and business objectives and work with the sales organization on enablement, global customer presentations and their revenue generation efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team that is responsible for developing the global strategy for a defined industry, inclusive of the full set of solutions across all relevant Customer Operating Units. 
  • Develop a go-to-market playbook and interlock across the marketing organization to help meet defined growth targets and tactical marketing support needs. 
  • Partner with strategic marketing and other key stakeholders to develop and/or include strategic inputs in marketing plans including marketing sizing/segmentation, competitive analysis, buyer personae, and positioning. 
  • Owns development of key messaging and value propositions for all industry buyer segments. Partners with product marketing as needed to ensure all relevant offerings and solutions are incorporated into UL's industry level go to market approach. 
  • Develops ABM efforts and supports strategic account planning and engagement for relevant global and strategic accounts. 
  • Translate the business objectives, market opportunities and portfolio of offerings of the COU into a well-defined, cohesive go-to-market strategy across all relevant industry verticals. 
  • Participate in business strategy creation, providing commercial insight, industry/customer intelligence, market sizing and competitive analysis. 
  • Ensures sales enablement needs are understood and met, partnering with Commercial Excellence as needed. 
  • Manage marketing budget for relevant COU/industries and make informed investment decisions in support of growth targets. 
  • Act as the liaison for the business, ensuring the marketing plan is achieving the growth and desired results of the business. 
  • Take a leadership role on initiatives within the Strategic Marketing organization that drive revenue generation or improve processes that reduce costs. 
  • Follow the UL Standards of Business Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices. 
  • Contribute to business success by performing other tasks as desired.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing, communications or related field, plus a minimum of eight years of relevant experience including three years of management experience.
