Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist

Division or Department: Healthcare Transformation, Marketing and Communications

Pay Type: Salaried

Workforce Classification: Full time (75-100%), .80 FTE, 32 hours/week

JOB SUMMARY:

1. Reports directly to: Marketing and Communications Manager

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate computer and telephone
  • Physical Effort: Ability to sit or stand for five-to-eight hours per day (depending on scheduled FTE); occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Developing content based on information provided by internal content experts (e.g., newsletters, flyers, PowerPoint presentations, and social media posts)
  • Designing and assisting with virtual convening communities using Mighty Networks, Zoom or similar online community platforms
  • Fostering engagement and peer-to-peer learning of behavioral health care providers through project deliverables
  • Editing and review of internal and external communications materials
  • Managing project workflow
  • Applying and enforcing corporate style guidelines
  • Strategizing best delivery mechanisms and communications mechanisms to meet project goals, including online and print strategies
  • Altering and improving existing content in order to shape it to meet the needs of the target audience
  • Understanding the parameters of government contract projects
  • Serving as communications liaison on project-based teams
  • Event coordination and special projects as assigned
  • Supporting external satisfaction survey activities
  • Creating and maintaining standard operating procedures for position
  • Pursuing opportunities for professional development
  • Daily use of email marketing platform(s) for email marketing
  • Regular use of Alchemer survey tool
  • Regular use of PowerPoint and other presentation platforms
  • Regular use of social media platforms for business
  • Regular use of WordPress CMS
  • Regular use of email automation tools (e.g., Mailchimp and Constant Contact)
  • Regular use of camera for video/photography
  • Occasional use of Vyond for animated video creation
  • Occasional use of Adobe Premier for video production
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS, ETC.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to successfully perform this job at the minimum level. Additional requirements are listed as preferred.

Required -

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing or related discipline or 5-7 years’ equivalent experience in marketing and communications
  • Ability to write effectively for a variety of audiences (internal and external) and for a variety of media
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently
  • Superior/excellent communication skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgement
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Planner and OneNote
  • Experience with email automation platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Higher Logic, or Hootsuite), and survey tools (e.g., Alchemer)
  • Experience with social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite or Buffer)
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier and Adobe Illustrator
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to take assignments and direction from a variety of staff
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Valid driver’s license or ability and means to travel as required
  • Interest and availability for in-state, overnight travel (5%)
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all employees

Preferred -

  • Previous experience working on healthcare marketing communications projects
  • Project management experience
  • WordPress CMS experience
  • Knowledge of AP Style and the Chicago Manual of Style
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams

Salary Range: $31.00 - 34.00/hour, based on experience level
