Senior Marketing Specialist:

Provides support in all facets of the pursuit process as well as various marketing activities. Responsible for writing, editing, and preparing pursuit materials, research, presentations, marketing plans, and award submissions. In addition, the Senior Marketing Specialist is responsible for marketing efforts to support the overall department goals including campaign development, messaging, content, external communications, graphic design, and production of marketing materials. Provides thought leadership, anticipates future needs, and identifies and enacts improved processes. Demonstrates leadership on larger profile projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as marketing lead on deliverables for pursuit responses, including content, design and production for RFPs, interviews, and proposals 
  2. Provide clear, concise written and verbal instructions and directions for proposal team action items and follow up on progress 
  3. Lead marketing plans including strategies to increase communication and drive awareness relevant to the market including events, tradeshows, blogs, e-communication, social media, etc. 
  4. Create and produce deliverables in support of ongoing strategic social marketing campaigns, trade press articles, website content, newsletters, and case studies 
  5. Gather competitive intelligence on pursuits, clients, developments, and competitors 
  6. Organize, write and submit award submissions 
  7. Work with the team to develop best practices and processes including specific language related to the specific industry or region 
  8. Collaborate with executives, engineers, construction managers, and others to secure information for various writing assignments 
  9. Plan and manage industry-related client, community, and project events 
  10. Develop ideas for speaking submissions to share with the team. Research, coordinate, and schedule conferences, speaking engagements, teaching opportunities, and articles to submit 
  11. Organize and assist with market-specific forums/spotlights
  12. Monitor and understand industry information and news to distribute with the team 
  13. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently with attention to detail within a fast-paced environment. 
  • Qualified candidates will have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; must be a creative and competent writer and editor who can produce clear, concise, and convincing marketing collateral. 
  • Previous experience with proposals, as well as experience supporting engineering, construction, architecture, are beneficial. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience of practical marketing, administration, or executive support experience is required. 
  • Experience in layout and/or advanced graphic design is desired but not required. 
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Previous technical writing experience, including writing and editing and use or proposals.
