Senior Media Buyer

We are seeking a senior media buyer who will be responsible for the tactical development implementation of traditional media touchpoints, with a heavy focus on radio and television. This person is accountable for helping move client business forward by working with media partners and the Hiebing media planners to manage media buys and ensure client objectives are met. This person will also oversee two other media buyers responsible for print and OOH tactics as well as manage an external media buying partner. An ability to communicate effectively, translate results into a consumable story and own the details is crucial. We are looking for someone who can work independently and own their craft, but also wants to collaborate in the holistic media process in a team-based environment located in our Madison, Wisconsin office.

  • Evaluate audience, inventory and partners associated with broadcast and video buys, owning the buying process and external relationships 
  • Work with Media Planners on audience opportunities, buy specs and marketplace availability during planning process as well as in ad hoc scenarios 
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and determine best opportunities, developing the final buy recommendation and buy summary 
  • Negotiate and secure deals across multiple client categories, with the ability to work independently
  • Manage campaign operational elements including make good evaluation, billing reconciliation/invoices and trafficking questions 
  • Compile regular post buys and reports and provide performance insights to drive actionable next steps 
  • Work with and manage two internal media buyers as well as an outside buying relationship
  • Educate media planning team on new opportunities, helping navigate clients into new territories with strategic buying options
  • 8+ years of media buying experience, with focus on radio,TVand streaming audio/video
  • Knowledge and experience with some other touchpoints (OOH, print) a plus 
  • Clear understanding of the media buying process and all related metrics (Ratings, Share, Reach, CPP, CPM, etc.) 
  • Ability to manage junior buyers, including double checking work, educating and advising buys basedon client needs and best practices 
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of measurement of the traditional media space 
  • Experience with campaigns set-up and management using FreeWheel 
  • Willing to relocate to Madison, WI 
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
