Role Summary:

The Senior Media Coordinator is responsible for various marketing and media activities, primarily focused on Brand Awareness, Demand Generation, Paid Advertising, Earned Media and Internal Communication. This role will serve as a key liaison to our advertising agency and between cross-functional teams, leading the coordination and implementation of James Hardie’s marketing and media strategy. The ideal candidate demonstrates tactical excellence, is a self-starter who is passionate about their work, can navigate ambiguity, effectively multitask, is highly organized, thorough and consistent. Must possess keen attention to detail and innovative thinking. Above all, must be a team player who is motivated to deliver exceptional results for the rapidly growing James Hardie organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of business goals and brand strategy 
  • Exhibit clear understanding of marketing/media strategy and how it drives results for the business 
  • Execute against a winning marketing strategy for the James Hardie brand and exterior suite of products in support of company growth goals 
  • Work in partnership with advertising agency and key internal stakeholders to develop paid, owned, earned and content-based media plans 
  • Coordinate work needed to develop and/or optimize brand positioning, messaging, creative, and brand health measurement for James Hardie 
  • Conceptualize, research and produce marketing materials, proposals, promotions and presentations 
  • Align with key internal stakeholders on ‘priority campaign messaging’ and vet all media creative and PR with legal for approval 
  • Write non-technical text, and edit and proofread all marketing communications 
  • Proofread content and review graphics and other media assets to ensure alignment with creative brand strategy and visual standards 
  • Schedule, conduct and recap internal + agency development and planning meetings 
  • Coordinate all aspects of the creative review process, including aggregation of stakeholder feedback, legal vetting, scheduling, tracking, and reporting 
  • Prepare media plans and presentations 
  • Capture meeting notes and key creative feedback for immediate distribution 
  • Maintain master project timeline 
  • Provide concise and timely communication on the status of all projects (media-related and otherwise) and tie back to how company goals are being met 
  • Maintain filing of marketing materials and overall management of databases 
  • Use campaign data to recommend and implement optimizations to improve overall campaign performance. 
  • Measures, reports out and optimizes the marketing plans based on results 
  • Review and provide comments on reporting. 
  • Assist in managing monthly marketing/media campaign budget spend within forecast and accruals as needed. 
  • Leverage strategic leadership skills to recommend and implement process adjustments that drive efficiencies and save time/human resources 
  • Stay up to date on latest industry and media trends and share information through competitive reporting 
  • Foster continued self-improvement by staying abreast of relevant media trends through self-led education with monthly/quarterly cadence 
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising/Media, Business, Communications, English or Journalism 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in retail, consumer goods or within an advertising agency 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Social Media, and video conferencing/networking platforms (WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Google Meets) 
  • Strong computer skills, creative/graphic design skills and use of other media in marketing proposals, presentations and related collateral material 
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Works cooperatively with cross-functional teams across various geographic regions 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills 
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate through ambiguous situations 
  • Self-starter with high sense of personal accountability 
  • Requires little or no direction in area of specialization 
  • Able to manage and motivate people through influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Excellent written + verbal communication and presentation skills
