This role supports the development of scalable programs to engage Medtronic employees globally through meaningful volunteer experiences, giving initiatives, and awareness of the impact of philanthropy. Key responsibilities include volunteer and program management, large-scale event execution (in-person and virtual), resource development, employee consultation and training, and data tracking. This position plays a key role in the day-to-day execution of numerous volunteer and giving programs intended to meaningfully engage 95,000+ employees across the globe.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, implements, and administers community/public affairs and social responsibility programs for company. 
  • Makes recommendations regarding corporate donations. 
  • Responds to employee and customer inquiries regarding community involvement. 
  • Ensures the connection between the business agenda with broader reputation and social issues. 
  • Engages in the evaluation, development and implementation of potential channel strategies and explores expansion into applicable web and social marketing mediums. 
  • Coordinates participation in community and charitable activities, philanthropy projects, and organizations. 
  • Serves as company representative in interactions with not-for-profit organizations. 
  • Represents company at public functions related to charitable or community-based activities. 
  • Maintains knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues and may interact with local governments.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required 
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant philanthropic, foundation or volunteer management experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience philanthropic, foundation or volunteer management experience.

Nice to Have

  • Corporate foundation experience 
  • Experience with match giving platforms (YourCause, Benevity, CyberGrants) and CRM tracking processes 
  • Highly detailed and execution-focused, with the ability to take a project from A to Z 
  • A background in volunteer management, communications, and/or corporate events (ideally all three) 
  • Experience executing large-scale events (100+ people) across multiple geographies 
  • Customer service mindset, including work with a global audience
