Position Details

Senior Product Marketing Manager
Chicago Illinois

Leads the development of marketing assets and strategic plans that support a broad portfolio of products (devices, services, accessories, etc.). Drives successful product launches and ensures channel readiness to sell and support new products through close collaboration with internal teams (Retail Merchandising, PR, third-party partners, Training, and Sales Operations). Develops customer and channel facing product support materials (including manuals, training guides, web content, promotional materials) and launch related activities. Manages the creation and lifecycle of product value propositions and positioning statements which communicate clear customer benefits and differentiation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads cross functional team of marketing partners in the introduction of new products, including development of value propositions, training, collateral development, merchandising, P.R., etc. 
  • Designs and delivers product positioning and messaging statements that clearly communicate value to customers; Evolves product position and messaging over the lifecycle of the product ensuring messages are relevant to the evolving customer needs and product landscape 
  • Closely monitors marketing messages throughout the lifecycle of products to ensure messages remain up to date and relevant to the evolving customer needs and product landscape 
  • Ensures product collateral is aligned to broader U.S. Cellular messaging, rooted in customer value drivers 
  • Partners with 3rd party providers to leverage best-in-class product marketing materials; Provides U.S. Cellular specific feedback to 3rd party providers on ways to better tailor materials to U.S. Cellular customers 
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of product portfolio; Uses knowledge to inform marketing plans to ensure product differentiation across products is highlighted and clear to U.S. Cellular customers 
  • Analyzes product sales data to create business insights; Uses insights to fuel and direct marketing efforts 
  • Participates in 3rd party partner meetings, trade shows, and industry events

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Minimum 7+ years in product marketing or product management 
  • Solid presentation skills with experience presenting to a range of professionals (peers/colleagues, managers, directors, executives) 
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex ideas succinctly 
  • Strong collaborator with proven track record of delivering new products to market working across marketing disciplines 
  • Strong time and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA 
  • Marketing experience at a wireless carrier, consumer electronics manufacturer, consumer packaged goods manufacturer, or agency with go-to-market/launch experience
