In this fast-paced, high energy environment where corporate communication is essential? As a Senior Public Relations Specialist, you will develop press releases, speeches and Potawatomi Hotel & Casino property statements.

While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by demonstrating unsurpassed guest service, a high level of integrity and ethical standards, and personal and professional dedication to our mission, vision, and values.

  1. *Create and implement communication plans, campaigns, outreach programs, and materials to support all aspects of PH&C’s external communications, media relations, public affairs, community relations, and social responsibility initiatives. 
  2. *Create and edit content for a variety of communications mediums including but not limited to internal publications and postings, news releases, brochures, internet and intranet postings, email, speeches, presentations, and video scripts/productions. 
  3. *Develop and maintain ongoing, interactive working relationships with other PH&C departments to ensure that Corporate Sponsorships and Partnerships and Public Relations initiatives are integrated into key business functions. 
  4. *Assist in the development and coordination of public relations events including charity events, media tours, social responsibility activities, and community relations programs. 
  5. *Build and maintain relationships with local community, cultural, and civic leaders, as well as local, regional, and national media to promote and maintain a positive company image. 
  6. Assist with all requests for cash and in-kind support including but not limited to sponsorships, raffles, auctions, promotional items, and corporate tables. Identify new opportunities that support strategic and business goals. 
  7. Assist in monitoring and researching emerging trends affecting the company and the gaming industry. Develop campaigns and initiatives to address developing and critical issues. 
  8. Provide public relations counsel and guidance to senior management, internal departments, and other stakeholders. Assist in developing and implementing measurement tools to gauge effectiveness of communication efforts. 
  9. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations. 
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or other equivalent field required. 
  2. Three (3) years demonstrated work experience in Communications, Public Relations or Community Relations or equivalent field required. 
  3. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
  4. The ability to demonstrate strong, effective writing skills. 
  5. The ability to use excellent communication skills to serve as an effective and articulate spokesperson to various media outlets through both written and oral mediums.
  6. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information. 
  7. Strong influencing and relationship-management skills. 
  8. The ability to interact with and understand the interests of stakeholders at all levels, as well as the impact of those interests on PH&C and its goals. 
  9. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. 
  10. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member may be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally, with assistance. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Working Conditions

The noise level is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
