Sourcebooks is looking for a Sr. Publicity & Marketing Manager to join their innovative Bloom Books and Casablanca romance marketing team. This role will be focused on the romance, new adult, and YA categories with a focus on securing media coverage, creating a presence at key conferences, and planning bookstore events.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in publicity and events for books as well as experience with traditional and digital marketing. They will have working knowledge of TikTok and Instagram trends and will be familiar with online audiences and the power of social media to sell books.

It is crucial for this candidate to be passionate about books in the romance, new adult, and YA romance categories.

The Senior Publicity & Marketing Manager will lead a small team of three marketers in developing publicity and title marketing plans for authors in the romance and YA categories. This role will also collaborate across departments on retail marketing and digital marketing initiatives.

This role can be remote in any of our approved states (IL, MN, WI, NY, NJ, MD, CT, PA, WA, NC, TN, TX, AZ) or is welcome to work in-person from our New York, NY or Naperville, IL offices.

In this role you will:

  • Secure high-level media for books and authors 
  • Create a strategic presence at key industry conferences including panel events, parties, group signings, etc. 
  • Plan bookstore events and national tours for key authors 
  • Collaborate with cross departmental teams to augment digital marketing efforts and ROI.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 8+ years publicity and/or marketing experience for a book publisher 
  • Experience managing a small team. 
  • A willingness to experiment, pursue new ideas, and ways of working. 
  • Strong creative perspective including writing skills and visual instincts. 
  • A true love for books in romance, YA, fantasy, and related genres
