This role in summary:

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Sr. Strategist for its in-house, award-winning creative agency and studio, WoW Studios. Our growing team of passionate and collaborative humans is focused on best-in-class advertising, storytelling, and consumer experience for all of Whirlpool’s brands including KitchenAid, Whirlpool, JennAir, Maytag, and Amana. We’re committed to increasing and elevating Whirlpool’s output of campaigns, content, design, experiences, and digital innovation across all consumer touchpoints (in-store, film, social, digital, experiential, etc).

WoW Studios is located in the historic Reid Murdoch Building at the edge of Chicago’s Riverwalk and at Whirlpool’s Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI.

In this highly visible, business-critical role, you’ll report directly to the Head of Strategy to help restage one of the world’s most iconic brands for a new generation. You'll unlock sharp insights, inspire creative teams with briefs that move people, and guide work that resonates in culture. You’ll bring a point of view on branding, sociocultural shifts, and the internet - alongside a deep understanding of what makes people feel, think, and act.

Your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead brand strategy across integrated campaigns
  • Shape creative direction through insight, storytelling, and sharp POVs
  • Spot cultural trends and translate them into brand relevance

Brand Stewardship

  • Champion Whirlpool’s voice, tone, and creative expression
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and resonance across all touchpoints
  • Evolve how the brand shows up in culture and daily life

Creative Brief Development

  • Write briefs that inspire big ideas and meaningful work
  • Frame challenges clearly and creatively for cross-functional teams

Creative Excellence

  • Partner with creatives to push concepts from good to unforgettable
  • Guide the process from insight to execution with strategic rigor
  • Provide feedback that sharpens work without dulling its edge

Organizational Partnership

  • Be a trusted advisor to marketing, product, and content leads

  • Collaborate with analytics and insights to track impact and optimize campaigns

Minimum requirements:

  • ~5+ years in brand/creative strategy, ideally within an agency or in-house studio
  • Proven track record turning insights into impactful creative
  • Experience leading product go-to-market strategies
  • Comfort with both qualitative and quantitative research
  • A voice people listen to and a deck-writing game to match
  • Curiosity, empathy, and cultural fluency

Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, Marketing Research, Behavioral Psychology, Social Sciences, or related)
  • Ability to quickly foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and external partners to drive collaborative efforts.
  • Qualitative research expertise applying innovative qualitative research techniques
  • Background in durable goods brands
  • Natural storytelling instincts and sharp editorial judgment
  • Passion for branding that makes people feel seen

Compensation: $72,450 - $144,900 + Annual Bonus.
