Madison College invites applicants to apply for the position of Senior Web Content Liaison within the Communications and Strategic Marketing Department.

This position will be open until filled, with a first review date of September 4, 2019, at 11:59 pm.

This is a full-time, exempt, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year position. Monday – Friday working core hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., some flexibility required. Madison College offers a generous benefit program including health and dental benefits.

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:

This position plays a key role in the successful implementation and ongoing oversight of a responsively designed website that enhances the user experience across a broad spectrum of applications. This position is primarily responsible for the development of website content that aligns with brand, web style and search engine optimization (SEO) standards and practices, the goals of which are to maintain a website that optimizes the user experience, maximize the website’s search engine rankings, and minimize risk to website function.This position will be in a key role for delivering on the College’s web strategic plan. A successful candidate must be self-directed as well as be able to collaborate with colleagues across the college.

Essential Duties:

The following essential duties are expected of this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • This position will be responsible for the intake, assessment and prioritization of all new projects.
  • This will include requests from all internal college customers.
  • As Product Owner in a project management function, the position is responsible to meet with the customer to define the purpose and scope of the project and will act as the liaison and business analyst between the customer and technology services department.
  • Communicates critical information to web authors and the Web Strategy Group such as web updates, governance changes and training.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology to ensure alignment by balancing competing interests and needs across organization to arrive at a clear vision, communicating effectively and aligning various partners along the way.
  • Design and produce web projects requiring high-level web design experience with a focus on visual design, navigation, usability and brand identity. Work closely within marketing department to solidify design direction and effectively translate ecommerce/business goals and requirements into compelling visual solutions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge in marketing, branding and customer service principles.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of website components: front-end elements, navigation structure, layout, content, content management systems (CMS) and search.
  • Proficiency with Web authoring tools, Content Management Systems (preferably Drupal).
  • Advanced knowledge of browser compliant CSS/HTML.
  • Knowledge of applicable accessibility and privacy practices, regulations and laws.
  • Experience in creating accessible PDFs using Adobe Acrobat.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Communication, Marketing, Web Design, Information Technology, English or related field; OR Four (4) years (8,000 hours) work experience which must include web content management experience.
  2. Four (4) years (8,000 hours) of work experience directly related to the skills related to successfully perform in this position which must include web-based project and brand management.
