Ascendium is looking for a skilled senior writer to help us communicate about the impactful work that we do.

Are you an experienced and talented writer who enjoys crafting and delivering compelling messaging to all types of audiences? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? We’re looking for a skilled senior writer to help us communicate about the impactful work we do. You must have proven writing skills and a knack for translating complex issues and solutions into concise text that engages many types of audiences. The ideal candidate should also have experience developing strategies to best determine how to effectively communicate to our audiences, as well as have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will be expected to apply the right voice and tone to each assignment, while maintaining the highest standards of technical proficiency. You should be comfortable writing in the language of mission, vision and values, while recognizing when to inject a bit of levity and pizzazz.

Here are the qualifications we’re looking for.

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing or other professional writing fields, with bonus points for previous experience with philanthropy and/or postsecondary education.
  • Superior knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability and willingness to edit and proofread material at various stages of development.
  • Top-notch storytelling skills.
  • Exquisite creative, critical and conceptual thinking.
  • Terrific organizational, problem-solving and coordination skills.
