The Social & Digital Marketing Manager is a social-first strategist and hands-on executor who develops comprehensive social media and digital marketing strategies while personally managing campaign execution to drive brand growth. This role oversees the entire social and digital marketing ecosystem including Instagram, TikTok, paid social media, user-generated content, influencer partnerships, and emerging social platforms. Working closely with the Vice President of Good Chemistry on broader business alignment, this role focuses exclusively on maximizing social media performance and digital engagement while personally executing high-impact campaigns that optimize conversion.

Key Responsibilities include:

Social Media Campaign Strategy & Execution

  • Develops comprehensive annual social media strategy aligned with business objectives, social trends, and platform algorithm changes
  • Creates social media marketing plans and budgets across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms with responsibility for social ROI optimization
  • Establishes social brand voice and content strategy for consumer segments across all social touchpoints
  • Partners with external vendors to maximize paid advertising and return on ad spend (ROAS) within modest advertising budget
  • Partners with Digital Commerce Manager to drive social commerce growth through Instagram Shopping, TikTok Shop, and other native shopping features
  • Collaborates with Creative and Product Development to transform product launches into shareable social moments and trending content opportunities
  • Owns end-to-end social media performance including engagement rates, follower growth, social commerce conversions, and social media-driven website traffic

Influencer & Creator Partnership Management

  • Develops comprehensive influencer marketing strategies that include nano-influencers, micro-influencers, and brand ambassadors to create authentic social proof
  • Negotiates influencer partnerships and manages creator contracts, ensuring clear deliverables, usage rights, and performance expectations
  • Coordinates influencer content creation timelines to align with product launches, seasonal campaigns, and trending moments
  • Tracks influencer campaign performance metrics including reach, engagement rates, click-through rates, and conversion attribution

Platform-Specific Content Strategy

  • Develops TikTok content approaches that leverage trending sounds, effects, and hashtag challenges to increase brand visibility and user-generated content
  • Creates Instagram-specific content strategies including feed posts, Stories, Reels, IGTV, and Shopping features that drive engagement and sales 

Community Management & Engagement

  • Manages day-to-day community engagement across Instagram and TikTok, responding to comments, DMs, and user-generated content in brand voice
  • Develops user-generated content campaigns that encourage customers to create and share beauty tutorials, reviews, and before/after content
  • Implements social listening strategies to monitor brand mentions, beauty trends, and competitor activities across social platforms

Performance Analytics & Social Insights

  • Analyzes social platform performance metrics including reach, impressions, engagement rates, story completion rates, and social commerce conversions
  • Tracks influencer campaign ROI and provides detailed performance reports on creator partnerships and sponsored content
  • Monitors social media algorithms and adjusts content strategy based on platform changes and performance data
  • Conducts competitor social media analysis to identify trending content formats, successful campaign strategies, and market opportunities
  • Translates social media data into actionable recommendations for future campaigns, creator partnerships, and platform investments

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Social Media, Communications, or like field or a combination of education, experience, and training which provides the background necessary for performing the work
  • 4+ years of social media marketing experience with at least 2 years managing Instagram and TikTok campaigns, preferably in the beauty, fashion, or lifestyle industries
  • Proven track record of successful creator collaborations that drove measurable engagement and conversions
  • Extensive knowledge of Instagram and TikTok advertising platforms
  • Experience with influencer marketing platforms such as Tagger, Grin, or similar creator management tools
  • Proficiency in social media analytics tools including Sprout Social or similar platforms
  • Understanding of social commerce features and shopping integrations across Instagram and TikTok
  • Experience with content creation tools including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or editing apps for social content
  • Deep understanding of Gen Z social media behaviors, ideally around beauty content or consumer goods
  • Strong eye for visual aesthetics and trending content formats that perform well on Instagram and TikTok
  • Excellent relationship management skills for building authentic partnerships with creators and influencers
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with experience adapting quickly to algorithm changes and platform updates
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience translating data into actionable marketing strategies
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and innovative, entrepreneurial, thinking
  • A strong collaborator with an ability to take initiative and demonstrate ownership in ambiguous environments

What we Offer:

The salary range is $100K- $120K. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range commensurate on the candidates' experience and skills. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
