The Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the Social Media & Public Relations Coordinator. This entry-level position works under the general direction of the Director of Public Relations.

The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day coordination of the State Fair and State Fair Park social media platforms, as well as support for public relations initiatives and social media strategies. Candidates must be excellent writers, quick learners, self-starters, able to take initiative in projects and tasks, and capable of working independently at times. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure and pay strict attention to detail, all with a positive attitude.

  • +1 year(s) of social media, public relations, or media relations experience
  • Proficient use of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in communications or related field, preferred 
  • Competence using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, and Excel 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize and communicate results 
  • Event planning and execution experience, preferred
  • Organizational social media experience, knowledge of WordPress or other CMS and entry-level graphic design program knowledge, preferred 
  • Knowledge of the Fair and agriculture industry is a plus, though neither are required 
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, at times leading up to and during the Wisconsin State Fair
