Children’s Wisconsin is looking for a self-motivated, highly-skilled, creative communications professional to fill a key position on the Marketing and Experience team. This person will help train and mentor teammates in social media management tools to more efficiently utilize channels. They also will work across Marketing and Experience to help develop content, create advertising strategies, manage social media followers and generate metrics and reports that demonstrate success.

  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect our values and support our mission and vision.
  • Responsible for monitoring current social media trends and emerging platforms and for deciding how to allocate budget and staff time to support our social media strategies.
  • Responsible for the management of Children’s Wisconsin social media community across all platforms, requiring independent judgment in how to respond to and interact with families and community members.
  • Responsible to train and support other team members who also support social media efforts.
  • Develops social media monitoring strategies, budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Leads strategies, plans and tactics for social media as a key part of the overall communication and marketing plan for the health system.
  • Identifies key social media metrics and disseminates data that informs content and advertising decisions related to social media.
  • Builds relationships and knowledge of Children’s Wisconsin to identify, capture and create compelling and engaging social media content that supports marketing initiatives and strategies that includes copy, photo and video components.
  • Manages and repurposes content across multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. 
  • Serves as a member of the team that provides rotating on-call monitoring and management of social media platforms.
  • Independently engages with social media followers without direction from department leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, public relations or related areas of study.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in external communication or a related role, of which five years must include supporting social media efforts.
  • Experience in leveraging social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social.
  • Demonstrated abilities in negotiation, collaboration and leadership coaching.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills, including video production.
  • Issues management communication experience preferred.
