Motion is seeking a Social Media Director who will be largely responsible for the day-today execution and coordination of strategic Social Media Marketing programs and projects, on a wide array of B2B and B2C clients.

The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver and a social native at heart. S/he is knowledgeable on all key social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, SnapChat, TikTok, Pinterest and LinkedIn, as well as informed and inquisitive about new emerging platforms. Candidates should be nimble and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating on the go, all while being a quick thinker and having no fear when asked to bring innovative solutions to the table.


  • Handle day-to-day client contact in a proactive, knowledgeable and responsive way as the lead on day-to-day account work rooted in solid strategic guidance and sound social best practices. Lead the social media department and serve as the team’s and client’s main point of contact on social specific accounts, forming strong client relationships, presenting recommendations to clients and helping to manage social media related deliverables. 
  • Oversee the creation of content that is optimized for each social platform and the intended audience. Gather research and data needed to formulate tactical plan development and recommendation for client delivery with oversight from platform strategists and team leadership. 
  • Present program outlines, platform strategies, project ideas and creative samples to clients in an effective, personable and insightful manner. 
  • Have a strong working financial knowledge to efficiently manage client spends. Able to develop annual budgets, forecast revenue and review billing and hourly projections for clients. 
  • Effectively monitor cross-channel brand health and brand reputation via social conversations (alongside a wider team of community management personnel) on all platforms necessary for specific account(s). Manage and track paid social promotional campaigns across necessary and applicable platforms. 
  • Lead and mentor the internal social media department to on creating best in class programs and content. 
  • Lead teams on creating quarterly, weekly, monthly, reporting of project status/results; analyze data and provide sound insights on plan and ideas for change/optimization moving forward. 
  • Manage all internal communications and projects as it relates to client needs. This includes directing creative to apply client feedback to deliverables. 
  • Become thoroughly educated on relevant client industries, applicable influencers in each industry, product information, competitive landscape and overall trendspotting for proactive/reactive timely social activations 
  • Assist agency and department leads on new business pitches – from strategic outlines to pulling data and research components needed for new business pitches.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations or Integrated Communications 
  • 8+ years of social media experience required with deep comprehension of paid social platform planning 
  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist 
  • Mastery of social platforms 
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Presentation skills are a must 
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent project management and organization skills 
  • Ability to work successfully with teams on multiple projects under tight deadlines 
  • Proven leadership ability 
  • Demonstrates initiative and desire to expand personal knowledge to better client practices
