A. O. Smith Corporation, a global leader in residential and commercial water heating, as well as a manufacturer of water treatment products, is in search of aSocial Media Internthat will work onsite at our World Headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The candidate will join the company’s Corporate Communications team, assisting with efforts related to the company’s social media channels.A. O. Smith (AOS), named a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, is a $3 billion organization with 15,100 employees world-wide. This is a part-time position (up to 30 hours/week).

  • Manage A. O. Smith’s social media presence across channels by engaging with and growing the company’s social community. 
  • Work with the corporate communications team and business units to brainstorm content, develop monthly social calendars and draft channel-appropriate copy for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. 
  • Learn the company’s brand voice, key messages and products and incorporate into social content. 
  • Engage in daily social listening and monitoring using the company’s social platform, Sprout Social. Provide timely customer response/resolution. 
  • Develop monthly metrics reports that can be shared with key stakeholders. 
  • Assist with the development and distribution of company media materials, including news releases, media alerts and contributed articles and work into the social rotation when appropriate.
  • Graduate student or Undergraduate student junior/senior with a major in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and industry trends 
  • Experience managing or creating social media content for a B2B company is a plus
  • Demonstrated writing experience Strong communications skills 
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

This is a paid internship.
