Social Media Intern

We have an opportunity available for a Social Media Intern to provide support to our Marketing team.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated, self-starting and eager to learn the ins and outs of social media marketing. Through this process, they will have the opportunity to develop their skills in social media, SEO and digital marketing while helping CG Schmidt build a strong presence on various social media channels. This paid internship offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the world of social media marketing for the construction industry.

The Social Media Intern interacts with the Marketing team to support business development and marketing activities.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Creation: Generate engaging and relevant content for our various social media accounts, including posts, graphics and some videos that align with our brand voice and company goals

Scheduling & Posting: Work with the marketing team to plan and schedule posts to maximize reach and engagement, considering optimal posting times and trends.

Follower Growth: Implement strategies to increase our followers and engagement on the various social channels through organic and paid means.

Analytics & Reporting: Track key performance metrics using social media analytics tools to measure the success of campaigns and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations.

  • Passion for and proficiency in using Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn 
  • Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail 
  • Creative mindset and an eye for design with experience in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Express, Canva) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) preferred 
  • Create compelling graphics to share across all channels and help create and edit short-form videos 
  • Familiarity with Hootsuite (or other social media analytics tools) and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions 
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to work independently 
  • Enthusiastic, eager to learn and a team player 
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically 
  • A sense of humor and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of social media
  • Hands-on experience in social media marketing, particularly on Facebook, Instagram & LinkedIn 
  • Mentorship from experienced marketing professionals
