Ecolab, the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services, is seeking a social media manager to join the Global Communications team. This person will be responsible for leading the company’s corporate social media program, which includes channel strategies and management, paid and organic social media content, an employee social ambassador program and social media training.

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional experienced in social media to join Global Communications team for one of Minnesota’s largest companies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in communications, social media and digital marketing, and understands the importance of social media as a way to drive brand engagement and lead generation. The ideal candidate also can advocate for the value of social media, and can influence and provide direction for marketing and communications teams across the company.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Ecolab’s social media program – including development and execution of channel and content strategies for organic and paid social media and the employee social ambassador program. 
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the social media program including content development, community management, social listening and metrics reporting. 
  • Develop, execute and consult on strategic social media plans and content. 
  • Educate key stakeholders across the company and advocate for strategic, effective communications plans based on digital marketing and social media best practices. 
  • Develop social media training for use across the company. 
  • Play a lead role in comprehensive, global digital marketing campaigns, working with teams across the enterprise. 
  • Manage social media budget and agency relationships. 
  • Lead other communications initiatives as needed.

Position Details:

  • Position location: St. Paul, MN

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years professional communications experience, with specific experience in social media 
  • Deep knowledge of social media and digital marketing best practices and experience across all major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube)
  • Proven track record of managing successful communications and/or digital marketing plans 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with knowledge of AP style 
  • Experience creating content in a variety of formats (e.g., articles, social media, videos, presentations, etc.) 
  • Proficiency with web and social media content management systems, Adobe creative suite and HTML code 
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing or related field
