Social Media Manager - IL, WI, Remote

Position Purpose:

The Social Media Manager develops and manages social media content aligned with short-term and long-term department and agency goals, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms. This position is responsible for strategic development of all social media activity for multiple accounts in multiple platforms, along with the tactical execution of campaigns, providing measured results, analytics, and recommendations to increase engagement, build brand equity, and maximize efficiency of resources.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media calendar that aligns with brand strategy, guidelines, and goals. 
  • Build strong relationships with staff and internal partners across multiple facilities and departments to plan and identify content opportunities. 
  • Gather and create compelling content, including high quality written and video content, that will engage and inform our audiences. 
  • Schedule and publish content. 
  • Respond promptly and effectively to comments, messages, and other user engagement. 
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators. Analyze and report on the performance of social media content, using data to inform adjustments and future strategy. 
  • Serve as the network’s social media content creator with overall responsibility for establishing goals and objectives by channel as well as supporting tactics. Partner with external agencies, as needed. 
  • Identify insights and social media trends of campaigns through data analytics. 
  • Use data to inform campaigns and social media posts across all social media accounts, recommending pivots. 
  • Monitor and analyze competitor social media communities and social channels.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or public relations. 
  • Ability to adjust work schedule according to the business needs; travel to Rosecrance regional locations will be a regular occurrence. 
  • Must live within 150 mile radius of Rockford, IL. 
  • At least 3 years of professional experience preferred.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a knowledge of AP style preferred. 
  • Experience with video production for web and social media, including editing software. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain brand consistency across all social media channels. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms and tools, and experience in managing social media campaigns. 
  • A self-starter who can take the initiative and identify content opportunities. 
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Knowledge of the behavioral health and substance use industry is an asset.
