The Job at a Glance

The Social Media Manager is responsible for guiding Credit Union 1's social media strategy and crafting compelling, on-brand content that will support growth, engagement, and brand recognition while also providing valuable financial education. The Social Media Manager will work closely with the marketing team to amplify existing content-including blogs, videos, visual assets, and product launches-across relevant channels to drive traffic and business growth.

A Typical Day

  • Create a social media content calendar per key platform, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X. 
  • Write and customize content for each platform's unique demographic 
  • Propose campaign ideas based on current business priorities and social media trends 
  • Paid ad and boosted content strategy 
  • Monitor and amplify content from our partners on our channels 
  • Work closely with graphic design and Videographer to tailor visual assets to each platform 
  • Take photos, craft simple, on-brand graphics, capture additional video content as needed, create Reels, etc., to supplement existing creative assets 
  • Community management for growth and enhancing member experience through responding to comments 
  • Recommend financial influencers to create content for CU1, and manage influencer partnerships 
  • Manage NIL influencer partnerships and suggest additional opportunities 
  • Analytics tracking to prove ROI and regularly adjust strategy based on what performs 
  • Create posts and content for internal communications across Yammer

What We Look For

  • Creative and flexible thinker who has a passion for social media and a pulse on the latest trends-and how to make them apply to the financial industry in a way that suits our brand identity. 
  • Ability to translate complex financial or technical topics into consumer-friendly, easy-to-understand social media content. 
  • Desire to be on camera as a host or interviewer is a plus. 
  • Possess strong writing skills, an eye for what works well visually, and a knack for creative storytelling. 
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building and listening. 
  • Detail-oriented, well organized, able to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities and complete assignments on time. 
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; agility and flexibility to adapt to constantly changing priorities. 
  • Comfortable working in a complex, competitive and rapidly changing environment.
