Position Purpose Summary:

The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and managing PCA’s presence on social media by creating visually appealing and thought-provoking content that increases brand awareness and promotes stakeholder engagement. S/he will be responsible for the development, execution and overseeing of all paid, earned, and owned social media strategies to attract customers and grow the business.

The Social Media Manager has a passion and the creative/analytical ability to connect with current and future customers with the ultimate goal of turning followers into customers and customers into advocates.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Strategic planning and goal setting for the organization’s social media efforts for increased brand awareness, targeted traffic growth and lead generation. 
  • Assess, research and develop relevant, original, high-quality social media content/white papers to be published and distributed through PCA owned social channels to drive “earned” social media presence. Utilize internal subject matter experts and external contributors as appropriate. 
  • The ability to write posts that sustain the reader’s curiosity and leverage the right tools to manage content and to create an editorial calendar and publishing schedule. 
  • The Social Media Manager must be empathetic and understand PCA’s ideal customer in order to develop and promote content that will best resonate with all stakeholders. 
  • S/he must also be able to provide proper direction and management to third party vendor partners. 
  • Oversee, analyze and report on all paid, earned and owned social media activity. Recommend adoption of paid initiatives, where appropriate, to promote business objectives.
  • Maintain the company’s content resources and maintain a library for the sales organization to reference to help with consistency in messaging and promote advocacy for the organization. 
  • Conduct content audits to identify new topics, hashtags, keywords for SEO and other trends in the market. Provide recommendations for hashtags for various social platforms. 
  • Monitor the company’s social media accounts and offer constructive feedback to PCA employee advocates to help them develop a strong personal brand. Utilize listening tools to identify trending topics or sentiments about the brand, organization or marketplace and recommend corresponding tactics. 
  • Educate and train sales professionals throughout the organization on adoption of social best practices and leveraging other social tools for sales. 
  • Work closely with the lead generation and sales team to develop social media content that optimizes integrated campaigns and supports targeted sales growth goals. 
  • Analyze the long term needs of the company’s social media strategy and offer quarterly reports that outline recommended changes to the social media strategic plan.Regularly track and monitor KPI’s including channel followers, engagement as well as conversion (quality leads to website). 
  • PCA Responsibility – As a PCA employee and member of the Sales & Marketing Services group, the Social Media Manager is expected to continually strive to strengthen our business philosophy of meeting needs and exceeding the expectations of our customers, both internal and external. This includes supporting our commitment to service, which involves doing what’s right for our customers, focusing on strategies that add value and support growth, and keeping the promises that we make.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field. 
  • 5+ years’ experience in social media management and content creation. 
  • Highly engaged in and active on social media, especially LinkedIn and Twitter, with a broad content portfolio. Candidates with a strong personal presence on social media are preferred. 
  • A strategic thinker who is business savvy; able to see the big picture and understand the role social media plays within the organization. 
  • Able to easily spot new trends and adapt to them quickly. Naturally curious and enjoys researching varied subjects. Able to convey complex topics in a simple and engaging way. 
  • Proficient in photo editing/desktop publishing tools. Ability to design and create visual content such as info-graphics/videos to promote engagement. 
  • Excellent copywriting skills are required. 
  • Experience with website content management preferred. 
  • Solid understanding of leveraging hashtags and relevant trending topics. Understanding of social media analytics. 
  • Proficient computer skills including experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and current, relevant CRM, database and social media publishing and listening tools.An innate curiosity in changing technology and the ability to apply it to our needs. 
  • Detail oriented, well-organized and the ability to prioritize effectively. 
  • Experience managing processes and budgets. 
  • Ability to travel as necessary. 
  • Experience working in a team environment, where communication is valued.
