From our Chicago-based office we assist US, Canadian and Mexican manufacturers and service providers in their preparation for our industry events whether in Cologne/Germany, Asia, the Middle East or South America. Part of our role here is to market to export-oriented manufacturers, support our visitor promotions for each show as well as regular press and association outreach. Koelnmesse Inc. is also responsible for the development and execution of domestic trade events. Some of our Industry leading trade showsare: Gamescom – the world’s largest video game show, dmexco – the leading digital marketing event in Europe, imm Cologne – international furniture, design and interiors show, Anuga – the leading trade fair for the global food industry, IDS - the International Dental Show, photokina - photographic equipment and digital imaging show and many more.

The Cologne exhibition center is the fourth largest in the world. The property has 14 interconnected halls with a total exhibition area of 2.8 million square feet and an additional 500,000 square feet of outside space. The center is capable of accommodating 12,000 conference participants.

Koelnmesse, Inc. is seeking an energetic professional who has a passion for exploring new ways to connect people as well as drive business and innovation together. This position will provide you with an opportunity to work in a small, dynamic company that covers many different industries and regions of the world.

Koelnmesse Inc. is the North American Chicago-based subsidiary of Koelnmesse GmbH, one of the world’s leading organizers of industry trade shows. One of our main shows is Gamescom, the world’s largest video game show, which takes place in Cologne, Germany every year – and starting next year also in Singapore. Koelnmesse and our trade shows are looking to extend our brand through web-based marketing. We are always looking for new ideas!

Qualifications:

The candidate should demonstrate competency in the following areas of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong portfolio of design work, demonstrating solutions to business problems through effective design 
  • Fluent with Adobe Creative Suite—specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop 
  • Digital design and familiarity with HTML/CSS development 
  • Ability to develop, create and edit multimedia files 
  • Create and maintain digital assets for all email & website programs 
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and creative with the ability to learn, understand and effectively execute all brand standards and styles 
  • Support development and execution of print & direct mail assets 
  • Ability to accomplish tasks independently 
  • An innovative self-starter who can be relied on to complete tasks under tight deadlines 
  • Responds positively to creative and professional feedback 
  • Excellent communications skills - verbal and written 
  • Design, create and adapt our pages on social networking sites to become more visually appealing 
  • Monitor activity, check and reply to web site emails as necessary 
  • Assist with maintaining our website 
  • Ability to remain flexible, handling changing priorities and tight deadlines 
  • Ability to manage multiple activities

Time Requirement:
