Social Media Marketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

The Social Media Marketing Specialist is responsible for the creation and execution of results-driven social media strategy and is focused on two to three of the ADA’s customer strategy groups. Specifically, this person: works with internal client teams to deliver engaging content for social media platforms; attends events and produces live social media content; and supports the marketing teams to create a social media calendar. This person also manages social media communities and maintains the brand voice across different social media channels; delivers innovative social media executions; and collaborates with other social media team members and partner agencies to ensure a seamless branded social media experience.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 3 years of experience in social media marketing OR 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree 
  • Experience managing social media communities and interacting with customers as a brand on social media platforms 
  • Experience working in social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok 
  • Experience creating proactive and reactive media content, and researching changes in social media platforms and algorithms 
  • Excellent writing skills, adept in copywriting for social media 
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, parameters, Facebook pixel/LinkedIn insight tag, and optimizing conversion 
  • Understanding of executing paid social media and social media listening 
  • Serve as a point person for internal/external partners to prioritize assignments, analyze and provide social media performance reports for proactive and reactive campaigns to internal stakeholders 
  • Demonstrate initiative, a quick learner, and a solid foundation of using executive judgment to make content moderation and community management decisions 
  • A team player in collaborating with many ADA staff 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Trello (Slack, Basecamp or similar), Sprout Social (or similar), native social media ad management platforms, Canva or similar platform

Nice to Have:

  • Project management certifications 
  • Agile Methodology understanding 
  • Previous experience in an association, nonprofit, healthcare sector, or agency 
  • Experience with various social media management tools 
  • Experience with legalities surrounding social media giveaways and sweepstakes 
  • Basic SEO knowledge
