Join our dynamic marketing team as a Social Media Specialist at an award-winning specialty cheese company. This position will play an integral role in the growth and evolution of social media platforms for some of the top specialty cheese brands in the U.S. You’ll plan and execute social media strategy in the development and implementation of integrated consumer marketing campaigns that build brand loyalty, drive purchase, strengthen our market leadership position and deliver results.

The right candidate will have experience in growing social media communities for a national brand, be an exceptional writer and storyteller, have a knack for creating engaging content, and be passionate about the power of the social media landscape. You’ll be a passionate consumer-centric thinker and customer advocate who understands social media consumer behavior deeply and intuitively, puts the customer first, and influences others to think similarly. You’ll be a savvy and creative individual who is not afraid to push the limits, test out new strategies and viral trends, and go above and beyond.

This position is hybrid, based in our corporate office in Fitchburg, WI, just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. This role will report to our Director of Communications & Digital and work closely with the rest of the marketing team.

  • Assist in the development of overall social strategy and execution for all Emmi Roth family of brands 
  • Act as the social media expert within the company, maintaining a cutting edge understanding of best practices, features, strategies, and tactics across channels 
  • Collaborate with other members of the consumer promotions team to create a social media calendar and content strategy that aligns with brand marketing campaigns 
  • Collaborate with national sales team to develop social media campaigns that support national and regional retailers 
  • With the assistance of content creators, develop effective direct-to-consumer social media content that resonates with our target audiences on the channels best to engage with them 
  • Assist in overseeing strategy and content for paid social/display campaigns for brand awareness 
  • Maintain relationships with influencer partners and coordinate brand influencer campaigns with external partners 
  • Define and report key social media marketing metrics; share regular reporting with key stakeholders and identify opportunities for growth to expand brand reach and engagement 
  • Serve as the organization’s primary community manager for all branded social media channels; partner with customer service and quality teams to ensure the consumer brand experience is seamless across all channels 
  • Collaborate with Director of Communications & Digital to share learnings and scale the impact of social-related marketing initiatives 
  • Act as a steward for all brands and a keeper of brand voices in all social media channels 
  • Develop and manage digital brand loyalty programs 
  • Nurture email marketing databases for all brands; execute email marketing campaigns that support social campaigns and drive results 
  • Assist with maintaining general website updates on external brand websites Attend staff and department meetings 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field 
  • At least 3+ years working directly on organic and paid social media strategy and execution, preferably with a national brand 
  • Demonstrated experience in building large communities on social media and proven knowledge on which tactics drive engagement 
  • Experience developing and executing high impact social media content to build brand awareness
  • Proven expertise in leading platforms (TikTok, Instagram) and enterprise social media platforms and tools 
  • Proactive, can-do attitude – an ambitious go-getter who takes initiative, is forward thinking and thrives on collaboration and developing best-in-class social content that contributes to brand growth 
  • Genuine interest in the food and/or dairy industries 
  • Passport required and valid driver’s license
