Social Media Specialists are responsible for:

  • Maintains social media accounts to help increase social media presence and gain visibility in public and private sectors: posts updates and maintains blogs and social networks (including the Company LinkedIn account); monitors and replies to posts on social media platforms; posts and uses media tools, like Hoot Suite manager, to plan weekend and holidays posts 
  • Supports the Sales and Marketing Department with research, creation, editing, publishing and sharing social media and web-based content (articles, images, videos and surveys). 
  • Works with team members to help increase Gateway media presence and help gain visibility in public and private sectors. 
  • Assists with streamlining company social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Flicker and other social media platforms) to ensure uniform content and tone of voice for landing pages, graphics, and other elements within the communities. 
  • Contributes to website design projects. 
  • Develop and implement social and digital media strategy. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of college majoring in social media, marketing, public relations or equivalent field 
  • Must have experience in setting social and digital strategies and developing and implementing social campaigns on multiple social platforms 
  • Basic knowledge of digital media landscape, including various social media sites 
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator 
  • Ability to write short and long from copy, excellent grammar and proofreading skills 
  • Must be deadline and detail oriented, organized, flexible and able to adapt to change

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
