As a result of our company's growth, we're adding a Social Media Specialist to work with us on a variety of interesting and fun client projects.

This position is responsible with assisting in carrying out the goals and objectives of Leonard & Finco Public Relations, Inc., under the direction and guidance of the L&F management team. This position is designed to assist account executives in servicing one or more of L&F's clients, focusing on social media. The L&F team will depend on the Social Media Specialist to provide direction and expertise as it relates to meeting the clients goals through social media. The person holding this position should enjoy working in a fun and fast-paced team environment, partnering with a wide variety of clients in diverse industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work with account executives to determine the direction of social media for L&F and its clients by providing guidance and expertise.
  2. Collaborate with account executives in developing and executing social media plans for clients, including advertising, in accordance with client goals and budget. May include drafting and scheduling of social media posts. Create social media reports for clients.
  3. Drafting and design of newsletters (electronic and print), brochures, flyers and other print or electronic collateral
  4. Development of video blogs and whiteboard videos
  5. Work with account executives in whatever capacity is needed. Responsible for carrying out work requested of him/her, providing updates (oral and/or written as needed) and work for review by the account executive.
  6. Must plan, schedule and prioritize work responsibilities and adhere to deadlines in the daily working environment as well as in a crisis situation.
  7. Must ensure accuracy and accountability of all client records, receipts and timesheets. She/he must maintain a daily log of all activities.
  8. Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
  9. Continue to study and learn about industry and technology developments through extensive reading, seminar attendance, etc., focusing on social media.
  10. Must have flexibility to be able to work nights, weekends and occasional holidays when the clientele needs are outside of normal working hours or when the job requires extra time or effort. While this is not the norm, it is sometimes requested or needed.
  11. Must follow and adhere to company rules and regulations as well as standards of conduct outlined in the Leonard & Finco Public Relations, Inc. employee handbook.
  1. Educational requirements include a minimum of an associate’s degree in a communications field, preferably a bachelor’s degree. Preferably some paid or volunteer experience in the profession or as a journalist.
  2. Strong attention to detail.
  3. Be organized and accurate.
  4. Ability to follow a prescribed process.
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Publisher) and Adobe Acrobat.
  6. Working knowledge of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, SnapChat, Pinterest, Instagram plus up and coming social media platforms. Knowledge of social media advertising (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google).
  7. Experience with audio and video editing programs (imovie, idvd, PremierPro, Audition) a plus. Both Mac and PC experience a plus.
  8. Graphic design experience with Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
  9. Must be a self-starter and a team player with a positive attitude.
  10. Must have the ability to be a leader on a social media project and provide professional direction as needed.
  11. Must possess demonstrated abilities to write, organize, set priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  12. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to write concisely and professionally for varied audiences on a diverse amount of topics.
  13. Must have the ability to cope with a variety of different clients and personalities in the scope of the workday.
  14. Must be willing to continue learning about social media and the public relations business.
  15. Must have a professional understanding of client confidentiality.
  16. Must be bondable, possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
  17. Must present a professional appearance and demeanor as an associate of L&F.
  18. Must be willing to sign a limited non-compete agreement. It does not limit your ability to leave L&F, but it does prohibit you from taking L&F clients with you should you leave.
