The Wisconsin Department of Tourism is looking to hire a Social Media Specialist to build and maintain a strong social media presence. If you are a marketing professional with an interest in communicating with consumers through high-traffic online channels, we would like to meet you!

The Social Media Specialist will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s social media platforms. This position will develop, schedule and deploy content and advertising across social media channels for the Department and Travel Wisconsin brand including, but not limited, to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and others. In addition, this position will be responsible for channel management activities including monitoring, tracking and reporting. The Social Media Specialist will work with marketing and public relations staff and the Department’s agency of record to develop and execute social media campaigns across multiple channels that are integrated into business strategies and marketing campaigns.

Deadline to Apply: 9/3/19

1. Expert knowledge and experience working with social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, SnapChat, YouTube, LinkedIn, blogs, among others) with demonstrated ability to maintain and improve social media platforms.

2. Excellent writing and editing skills. Able to develop and write content using a consistent brand voice.

3. Experience with social media management and tracking tools such as Hootsuite, Tweetdeck and Buffer and Google Analytics.

4. Knowledge of social listening tools.

5. Must have an eye for photography and imagery that promotes social engagement and experience editing photos.

6. Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and evaluate emerging technologies.

7. Ability to coordinate multiple teams and projects in a fast paced, multi-faceted organization.

8. Knowledge of marketing strategies and brand development for online and traditional media channels.

9. Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team, collaborating to reach a common vision.

10. Detail-oriented; able to prioritize and meet deadlines.

11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Starting salary will be up to $21.42 per hour, in pay schedule/range 07-04, plus excellent benefits.
