The Social Media Strategist is a key member of Marketing and Communications team responsible for leading social media for all Bethesda, soon to be AbleLight, brands and markets. From traditional social media channels to blogs and paid campaigns, this role will work to position the organization as thought leader in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability field and engage key audiences with the organization’s promise to pioneer life-changing services that empower the people we serve to thrive.

What you will be doing:

  • Works closely with business partners to understand where social media can enhance business goals and opportunities.
  • Plans and executes organic and paid social media campaigns, produces fresh social media content and engagement for a variety of audiences daily, and maintains an ongoing social media calendar.
  • Runs social PPC campaigns for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Creates, organizes, and maintains the organization’s social media profiles to deliver a consistent and effective brand message.
  • Maintains weekly social media dashboard and develop strategies to grow impact and reach.
  • Utilizes a data-driven approach to understand various marketing metrics and measure and track performance to continually improve and grow social medial platforms.
  • Responsible for listening and community management in the greater social web (forums, answer sites). Pitches, creates, and executes various social contests, promotions, and donor engagement activities.

What we want to see from you:

  • Bachelor’s in Public Relations or other relevant marketing degree.
  • Three years’ experience in social media marketing, working within an integrated marketing team.
  • Experience in social listening platforms, SEO, design (especially for social media banners/assets.
  • Experience in interviewing / hosting, social media fundraising, and blog oversight preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate between departments and work with diverse colleagues with varying specialties.
  • Highly organized; a team player with excellent judgment, interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in creating compelling content within written posts, video, and live social events.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and demonstrated ability to write in alignment with Yahoo! Style Guide.
