Social Media Strategist

Social Media Strategists are the face and voice of brands. They are storytellers, brand planners, editors, producers, content strategists and publishers all tied into one. They must have a passion for social media, be on top of the latest platforms and trends as well as have an affinity for building relationships.

Collegis Education is searching for someone with 3-5 years of experience leading organic social media strategy and working across day-to-day content and publishing management for one of our largest partner institutions. We’re looking for a well-organized, positive individual who can work with internal and external teams to help produce and publish strategic content and grow brand communities. This role will also consistently monitor and optimize executions to increase overall brand engagement and account growth. This person should have strong analytical abilities.

Primary Responsibilities, Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Responsible for leading brand monitoring and listening practices, social media community management and reporting. 
  • Assist analytics on overall channel performance and campaign reports, providing qualitative analysis to support their quantitative data. 
  • Responsible for leading and collaborating on cross-channel projects and campaigns. 
  • Must have strong writing, public speaking and overall communication skills. This will entail copywriting, client communications and reporting. 
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally and utilize quantitative and qualitative analytical skills that help move the needle across content strategy and production. 
  • Ability to collaborate with other project leads to discuss plans, strategies and results. 
  • Must be self-motivated and a master multi-tasker who can manage day-to-day interactions but understands and takes action on road-mapping and planning ahead. 
  • Ability to prepare partner-ready documents and liaise with partners and other vendors. 
  • Well-versed and up to speed in the latest social media technologies, platforms, services and analytics tools. 
  • Content and editorial calendar guru. Bring forward fresh ideas for elevating partner’s brand through organic social media. 
  • Adhere to the appropriate information security policies based on the sensitivity of company data and report any security related issues.


  • 3-5 years of experience working in communications or digital marketing. 
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and across functional teams. 
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize quick-moving tasks. 
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and all major and emerging social channel networks. 
  • Comfortable and confident pulling together performance reports and insights using various brand monitoring and listening platforms such as Meltwater and Google Analytics. 
  • A positive thinker — the kind of person people want to work with. 
  • A proactive and bold attitude – not afraid to stand up for their ideas and speak up in meetings. 
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest degree of business and personal ethics.

Education, Certifications and Licensures:

  • A minimum of a BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, or related field of study.
