Social Media Strategist
Southeast Wisconsin
Pewaukee, WI

The Social Media Strategist leads Generac’s engagement with our customers, prospects and other stakeholders through social media. The key responsibility for this position is to lead the Generac social media presence in geographies as directed, including the editorial calendar and reporting/analytics. This position also sets standards for and influences social media for other Generac business units around the world. The scope of social media activities includes both monitoring and publishing postings. Critical to success in the role are testing, digital analytics, continual evaluation of digital efforts for improvement, and introducing innovative digital advertising approaches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set social media strategy and then execute and analyze activities.
  • Lead the development of the social media calendar, working with marketing managers across business groups.
  • Design and execute social media campaigns.
  • Measure and report social media results, making ongoing recommendationsfor future enhancements Optimize campaign performance to increase reach and engagement.
  • Research and pioneer introduction of innovative social media approaches, including placement, targeting and creative/messaging.
  • Extract and use data to make business decisions independently.
  • Provide off-hours monitoring of customer social media interactions as needed.
  • Manage marketing communications coordinator. Selects, coaches and develops staff.
  • Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team.
  • Manages performance-- recognizing achievement, providing feedback and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Create and maintain documentation of social media platforms and processes.
  • Interact with other Generac international business groups for coordination of content and standards.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, New Media, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of marketing or communication experience.
  • 3 years of experience managing social media.
  • 2 years of experience with digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or similar.
  • 2 years of experience leading teams, developing people or organizing tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience driving social media strategy and execution.
  • Prior success in optimizing social media results.
  • Experience with Reputation Management.
  • Experience with ad testing (A/B and/or multi-variate).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective social media strategist using social media for brand awareness.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or similar Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Knowledge of social media KPI’s Knowledge of best practices for social media growth
