JDRF is offering a competitive internship for the spring semester and extending into summer - beginning the week of January, 20, 2020 and running through July 17, 2020. The intern will assist Development staff in the overall planning and execution of JDRF’s Peer to Peer (P2P) and Signature Events that serve as the chapter’s three key fundraising programs. Additionally, will assist Outreach Manager in educational programming & events.

EVENT COORDINATION

  • JDRF One Walk: Family Team Rally, Youth Ambassador Program, V1P area management
  • JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes: Special training program events, various program logistics
  • JDRF One Hope Gala: Volunteer management, auction management
  • Outreach Transition Series Events: T1D Tween/Teen Laser Tag, T1D Technology Night, Schooling Diabetes and Off to College
  • Others as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with P2P and Signature Events teams to ensure fundraising goals are realized or exceeded through successful execution of supporting events
  • Provide event management and administrative support including event coordination, soliciting event participation, support of JDRF’s mission, procurement, data management, volunteer coordination and stewardship

MARKETING

  • Support chapter marketing campaigns and drive engagement activity through the management of JDRF branded-social media platforms including Facebook and chapter website
  • Increase chapter’s Instagram use and reach
  • Ensure all content is branded to JDRF standards
  • Interest in special event fundraising, nonprofit management, business and/or communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail
  • Organizational skills – ability to manage time and meeting deadlines
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with Facebook Pages, Instagram for Business and WordPress website management
  • Excellent phone presenceProficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Outlook experience preferred

Must be able to commit 20 hours per week at $10/hour.

Must be able to attend:

  • JDRF Bucks Night on Sunday, February 2 from 1:00-5:00pm at the Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee
  • JDRF One Hope Gala on Saturday, March 7 all day/night at the Italian Community Center, Milwaukee
  • JDRF One Walk Family Team Rally date TBD, weekday mid-June from 1:00-6:00pm at the Marcus Majestic Theater in Waukesha
  • JDRF Ride to Cure special programming events, select Saturday mornings through early afternoon late spring/early summer TBD
