Children’s Hospital and Health Systems (CHHS), Milwaukee, WI, has an exciting opportunity for a Special Events Coordinator. Coordinates fund raising events and activities that contribute to overall Department and Foundation goals and objectives. Requires a college degree or equivalent in related experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates behaviors outlined in the Core Competencies the Blue Kids Way to provide service excellence as a committed partner to children, families and co-workers.
  • Plans, coordinates and evaluates all assigned special events/activities, including drafting budget goals, objectives and time lines and submits for manager approval.
  • Secures financial support in the form of corporate and individual contributions in order to obtain underwriting assistance and in-kind donations for assigned special events/activities for the purpose of controlling expenses and maximizing revenue.
  • Provides staff support to assigned individuals, groups, organizations, corporations and committees that develop and organize fund raising events/activities.
  • Develops positive work-oriented relationships with sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to cultivate continued and increased support/involvement.
  • Coordinates sponsor and volunteer acknowledgment and recognition for assigned special events/activities.
  • Develops promotional materials, brochures, newsletters, videos associated with assigned special events/activities and submits for appropriate manager(s) approval.
  • Collaborates with public relations department to arrange publicity and promotion of assigned special events/activities when appropriate.
  • Tracks donor contacts and cultivation activities utilizing Foundation and IS approved donor/prospect database.
  • Represents and speaks for health system as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and special events and volunteer management experience.
  • Professional experience in a grassroots organization helpful, but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, as well as creative ability.
  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time while performing functions of position.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds during special events functions which is approximately 30% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license required for off-site travel and to transport event materials, etc.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8a-5p. Occasional evenings and weekends required for certain events.
