City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department serves a diverse Southeastern Wisconsin community of nearly 68,000. Aided by a progressive departmental Strategic Plan and adopted Park & Open Space Plan, the park system has grown to include 47 sites encompassing nearly 1,100 acres of active parkland and natural resource areas.
This 2011 National Recreation and Park Association Gold Medal Award Winning Department offers a comprehensive recreation program of activities and community special events for persons of all ages and abilities. These special events include Winter JanBoree, July 4th Celebrations, Minooka Mash, Trailbreaker Marathon, Kiddie Klassic & others. We are also a community leader in mobilizing and utilizing the talents of over 1,600 volunteers annually. New partnerships and resources have been realized to help address budget challenges through the SPARS (Sponsorship, Partnerships & Alternative Revenue Sources) program along with support from our Friends of WPRF and Park Foundation organizations. Ongoing assessments, strategic planning, and use of technology helps us stay connected with the Waukesha community.
Normal Hours of Work:
This position is scheduled for an average of 20 hours per week. Hours will generally be worked during normal office hours of Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Some evenings and weekends as required.
Salary/Benefits:
Exempt position, starting minimum annual salary - $23,920; position benefits include prorated vacation, sick and holiday pay.
