Job Summary:

The Special Events Manager is responsible for planning and executing fundraising and other hospital-related events that will maximize revenue, growth and awareness of La Rabida.

The Special Events Manager is responsible for the development and management of all internal and external hospital events. Events include but are not limited to, Friends of La Rabida Gala, Annual Golf Outing, holiday dress event, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas celebration and visitor events. This includes coordinating all logistics, managing timelines, overseeing committees, auction procurement and budgets (where appropriate).

Essential Special Events Manager Functions:

  • Work with communications and design team to develop event collateral and communications strategy. 
  • Serve as the primary contact with vendors and oversee the invitation and solicitation process, financial reporting and all day-of and follow up activities. 
  • Work with other internal departments in the coordination of non-fundraising events in the hospital (i.e., Thanksgiving, Christmas, Back to School dance, staff picnic, etc.) 
  • Ensure event production meets the highest possible quality standards and results in optimum experience for attendees. 
  • Assess and create strategies for ongoing growth and viability.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field 
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in special events 
  • Experience in a Nonprofit or Healthcare setting highly preferred 
  • Strong writing abilities, word processing, desktop and publishing
