Job Purpose and Impact:

We are looking for a motivated and talented communications manager to join our team. In this role, you will develop and align the strategic direction for Cargill's integrated foodservice team with a focus on leadership communications, internal communications, customer communications and issues management. You will work with the global communications team to advance foodservice priorities, drive employee engagement and business growth. You will collaborate closely with the corporate communications, media relations, digital and social team as well as internal/external stakeholders including business leaders and the embedded marketing and sales teams. The role will deliver clear, consistent communications for a growing, customer-focused, global team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop integrated plans and approaches for Cargill's Food Service team 
  • Advise leaders on effective communications with employees and other critical stakeholders internally and externally 
  • Drive collaboration between integrated teams from various communications practices to build and implement a strategy 
  • Lead, coordinate and execute internal communication across multiple channels to drive employee engagement and alignment around key business priorities 
  • Provide customer-facing teams with key messages and support around issues and key business initiatives, in partnership with marketing and Commercial Excellence 
  • Coordinate issues response and proactive outreach in partnership with Government Relations, Corporate Responsibility and other global functions, to manage and protect Cargill’s reputation wile driving business growth 
  • Utilize Global Communications common tools, templates and processes to facilitate integrated communications across Cargill 
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, minimum 4 years of related work experience 
  • experience with a variety of communications strategies needed for a global organization 
  • Good understanding of communications channels and content development for those channels 
  • Experience in developing integrated communications plans, for both internal and external audiences 
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint 
  • Vendor selection and management experience, along with familiarization with the RFP process 
  • Working experience in a matrix environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Develop strong business acumen to advise leadership and effectively partner with marketing and sales teams 
  • Experience working in a global company 
  • Experience counseling leaders and driving customer communications 
  • Agency experience 
  • 6+ years of communications experience 
  • Communications experience in food service 
  • Ability to motivate and guide employees with indirect reporting lines
  • Ability to translate complicated messaging into easy to understandable language 
  • Familiarity with food, nutrition and agriculture
