The Best Buy Direct Senior Copywriter is both a writer and a brand steward for Best Buy Education and Best Buy For Business. Their responsibilities will be focused on creating B2B and Education content for Best Buy across many marketing vehicles, including: email, print, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), web content, sales materials, event booths, customer testimonials, case studies, etc. They will also possess a strong understanding of content strategy to help identify current insights, communication angles and connect the dots in multi-channel messaging.

This person must have a true passion and understanding for growth areas that move quickly. It is essential that the person in this role be able to juggle multiple complex projects at the same time, while delivering smart copy/content that is within the Best Buy Brand Voice. Collaborating with both creative and cross-functional business partners is essential to the success of this role. This candidate should also have a strong understanding of the Business and Education audience that includes the latest trends and best practices to optimize engagement with the brand.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/responsibilities and experience:

  • Strong conceptual thinker 
  • Write compelling copy that support business objectives and aligns with the Brand Voice 
  • Write copy for all Social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, ensuring it is within the Brand Voice 
  • Have the ability to adjust writing style to the different Social platforms, in addition to Education/Business audiences 
  • Understands best practices in digital, print and Social Media, and can translate those practices into effective work 
  • Has a true passion for consumer electronics and is driven to differentiate Best Buy Direct in the marketplace 
  • Stays current with the business and education landscape, and has a proven record of bringing ideas to the table that tap into planned and unplanned events 
  • Must be comfortable and confident presenting work to internal and business group partners. 
  • Comfortable collaborating with other teams in the organization, including: BBY creative team, Best Buy Direct Sr. employees, sales, legal, proofreading and outside agencies 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, with an appreciation for data analytics to drive actionable, focused creative executions 
  • Proven leadership skills, with ability to inspire other team members 
  • Ability to grasp nuances of a client's business and participate in pragmatic and actionable solution creation 
  • Prior experience with clients in retail or consumer electronics is a plus

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience with copywriting
  • 1 or more years of experience with social media content creation
  • 1 or more years of business to business experience

Preferred:

  • 1 or more years of experience within the education B2B industry
