Sr. Copywriter

This role will be responsible for writing original copy on direct marketing print and online promotional material, as well as material for public relations and social media efforts, as well as sentiments and verse to be used on our jewelry and apparel products. This individual will take on the responsibility for helping to concept and plan strategies and tactics for individual jewelry and apparel promotions. The individual will assist our Advertising group with the production of versions or revisions of promotional materials and will be responsible for proofing jobs and obtaining all necessary approvals. In addition, the individual will help in gathering and compiling supportive research.

This writer level is marked by his or her mastery of almost all forms/types of advertising promotions, as well as a full knowledge of our advertising positioning, how we market and to whom, and the ability to identify a product’s USP and key attributes. This level of writer should be willing and able to take on some of the more challenging promotions. This level of writer should have the discipline to organize his or her work, have the initiative to get needed information from co-workers to complete tasks, and be able to make informed decisions on tactical strategies for individual promotions.

What you get to do each day includes:

• Write original copy for all direct mail house file new client acquisition promotions, including collateral material and online ads. 
• Concept and plan strategies and tactics for individual promotions and creative tests in concert with co-workers and managers. 
• Maintain schedule and coordinate and track jobs to completion; obtain necessary approvals and proofing copy for accuracy. 
• Write non-sell, editorial copy for customer communications and public relations, and social media postings. 
• Research background information on products, customer, the marketplace, and testing history.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing, or equivalent. 
• 5+ years of copywriting experience in related fields; direct response and/or jewelry experience a plus. 
• Excellent written language and proofreading skills required. 
• High proficiency in InDesign, proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and PowerPoint), and working knowledge of Filemaker. 
• High level of ability to organize their work, maintain their own schedule, and self-manage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarly with direct marketing. 
• Some proficiency in Photoshop. 
• Acquaintance with jewelry and/or apparel industry a plus. 
• Desire to learn and adaptability.
