The Senior Administrator-Corporate Communications position is responsible for investigating, writing and editing creative, relevant stories in multiple media formats. The main role is to identify, develop and investigate stories to share with both internal and external audiences. You will tell TDS' story on a day-to-day basis as a brand journalist.

Duties include: developing and or revising text for multiple venues, including online communities (both internal and external), press releases, web articles, blog posts, and video blogs. Utilize keywords to optimize for Search Engine Optimization in external stories. This role must understand and be able to stay relevant with your audience. This means keeping customers and employees informed, providing information, participating in discussions, as well as keeping up to date with trending topics in the media and telecom industry and making an effort to have TDS participate in those conversations.This position will also have input and may be responsible for daily/posts and tweets to all applicable social media outlets. Other duties include: coordinating editorial content calendar, partnering with other departments to ensure proper online messaging, and monitoring for message consistency across multiple networks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Write and edit stories in multiple media formats. Identify, develop and investigate stories to share with both internal and external audiences.
  • Uncover unique and interesting stories for multiple audiences
  • Identify opportunities to promote specific key messages and key words.
  • Monitor news for timely stories that TDS can participate in online or for SEO purposes
  • Prepare and conduct interviews with subject matter experts
  • Develop, write, edit articles with exceptional grammar
  • Manage editorial calendar, coordinating time-sensitive articles with general-interest stories
  • Respond to urgent requests and announcements with timely headlines, articles, links, etc., and adjusting Intranet space as needed
  • Understand and adhere to copyright law for print and photography
  • Maintain editorial scoreboards to track readership and hits
  • Be an engaged and motivated team member. Helping us build an editorial-styled department of brand journalists.
  • Post to social media sites, blogs, intranet and other technology channels to distribute your news on a timely basis. Prepare weekly internal email to promote news.
  • Find photography to compliment stories; adhering to copyright laws

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) or 4 + years professional work experience.
  • 2+ years experience writing both journalistic style and corporate communications or employee communications.
  • 2+ years experience with a variety of content forms, social media, video, podcasts, and ability to integrate text, still images, blogs, audio and video.
