THE IIMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Senior Digital Designer will develop and drive innovative solutions for digital storytelling across our paid digital marketing channels. This role will work seamlessly with the Senior Manager, Media Creative and the team, as well as teams across Paid Media, Ad Operations, Sales & Account Management, Merchandising and Marketing, as we continue to grow, evolve, and innovate our digital footprint. They have an affinity for consistency, color use, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details. While exercising a good eye for aesthetics, they can grasp and distill highly complex issues and translate them into clean, focused, understandable solutions. Strong communication skills and ability to stay highly organized is critical. They should be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision. As a senior team member on the team, this role is responsible for brainstorming concepts, sketching wireframes, prototyping mockups for both static and motion design, participating in design/app critiques, refining design directions and finalizing design details. They will identify, document, and communicate design team progress, industry trends, and technical issues.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: 

  • Design creative projects for targeted marketing campaigns across a number of retail media ad products.
  • Produce digital content through the creation of static and motion digital ads, GIFs, video content and HTML5 animations across various platforms.
  • Ability to work with video footage, animations, illustrations, etc.
  • Understanding of all social channel ad products, industry best practices and specs.
  • Understanding of various proofing tools and collaborative project management tools.
  • Utilize outstanding design skills and demonstrate innovation in creating original solutions.
  • Communicate and present design concepts; build presentation materials that successfully communicate design concepts.
  • Be able to brief and collaborate with outside partners to communicate creative direction, execute campaigns and deliver assets.
  • Share knowledge, experience, and skill with other designers; work with design counterparts to ensure continuity across digital touchpoints.
  • Become an expert on the function and capabilities of our platforms.
  • An excellent online design portfolio

  • Elevated taste level and innate ability to create unique, own design elements and experiences, with strong typography and layout hierarchy skills 
  • Solid understanding of user experience and interaction design across all digital platforms – how to craft an interaction that will intuitively lead a user through a flow
  • Create a beautiful, innovative and immersive experience for our guest
  • A great eye for layout, hierarchy of content, beautiful product composition in collaboration with the Photo Studio
  • Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
  • Motivated, proactive, outgoing, and comfortable working in a loosely structured organization
  • Partner closely with the Digital Creative & cross-functional business partners on multiple pieces of the same campaign – ensuring cohesion of all campaign elements
  • Implement the Ulta Beauty brand identity, visual and voice into every campaign & communication
  • Extreme efficiency, organization and attention to detail is a must
  • Able to balance several work streams and prioritize deliverables – meeting deadlines with quality design
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across both creative and business departments
  • Be responsive to ever changing business need that support the overall enterprise
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the team

THE ESSENTIALS OF SUCCESS:

  • 5-8 years in digital visual design for marketing, and/or advertising projects
  • Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts or similar
  • Proficient in motion design and HTML5 animation
  • Portfolio of work with experience in digital marketing with a love for content creation—design, GIF, video, photography
  • Knowledge of all social media platforms, best practices, ad specs and latest trends
  • A desire & ability to drive innovation, both in technology and in process
  • High level of proficiency with the following programs: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere and AfterEffects)
  • Efficient time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
  • A passion for Ulta Beauty, its products, and its guests is a requirement
  • Previous experience working in an e-commerce or retail environment is a plus
